The paths, a section of the Cape to Cape Track, can be sandy but are generally flat and suited to little legs that are seeking adventure.

At Ellensbrook discover some of the stories of Wadandi Country and why this place holds special significance for the Traditional Owners. Sit for a while to appreciate the specially commissioned artwork by Wadandi artist Sandra Hill and take in the natural beauty of the place.

Indoors

Explore the 160 year old house, once a working farm and dairy (entry fees apply). Meet some of the Traditional Owners (Wadandi) and early settlers who called this place home. Portraits, letters, recipes, diary extracts, newspapers, quotes and photographs have been used to fill the house with their voices and stories from the past.

From the early 1900s the house at Ellensbrook provided accommodation to some of the first tourists to the Margaret River. Edith Bussell provided a peaceful farm-stay by the sea with hearty home cooked meals. The proximity of Ellensbrook to the local caves was key – the caves were proving to be a huge drawcard for early tourists.
